About Us
Attainment of instructor status through one of the nationally recognized CPR certification organizations demonstrates that an individual has met the minimum qualifications necessary to deliver CPR instruction in accordance with an established curriculum. While this achievement represents an important milestone, we believe that it should not, in itself, define excellence in emergency cardiovascular education. The National Society of CPR Educators was founded upon the principle that those entrusted with educating healthcare professionals and the public should be held to a high professional standard. Our rigorous qualifications established for designation as a Fellow reflect this commitment.
The National Society of CPR Educators was established in 2025, with formal organizational development commencing that year. In 2026, the Society launched its national Fellow Designation Program to recognize CPR educators who have demonstrated exceptional professional experience, instructional excellence, and an enduring commitment to advancing emergency cardiovascular education.
Our mission is to promote the highest standards of CPR instruction, advocate for excellence in emergency cardiovascular education, and establish a nationally recognized achievement for qualified CPR educators. Through the development of meaningful qualifications and objective standards, the Society seeks to recognize individuals whose knowledge, experience, and professionalism distinguish them within the field.
The qualifications and standards for Fellowship are developed through the collaborative efforts of our team, consisting of experienced healthcare professionals and CPR instructors. Collectively representing decades of clinical practice and instructional expertise, these contributors have established rigorous eligibility requirements designed to ensure that those bearing the Society's designation exemplify the highest standards of educational excellence, professional integrity, and commitment to their communities.
Designation as a Fellow of the National Society of CPR Educators is an honorary professional recognition. It should not be construed as a certification, license, credential, or authorization to teach CPR, issue CPR certifications, or provide healthcare services. Fellow status signifies only that an individual has satisfied the standards for recognition established by the Society's Candidate Review Committee at the time of appointment.
The National Society of CPR Educators neither supervises nor endorses the instructional activities, professional conduct, or clinical practices of any individual or organization awarded Fellow status. Responsibility for educational content, certification practices, and professional conduct remains solely with the individual educator or their affiliated institution. Accordingly, the Society assumes no liability for the actions, omissions, representations, or services of any Fellow or affiliated organization.
